Last Saturday (April 21, 2012) was annual Record Store Day (RSD). Thousands set out to grab copies of limited vinyl records by some of their favorite artists and enjoy live in-store entertainment. It was a celebration of fellowship among those of us that share love for the tactility music can still offer in the digital era. To participate in this great event, I joined the ranks lined up early at Amoeba music in Hollywood.

With the new season of Mad Men back on AMC, it’s only natural for advertising enthusiasts to take a look at the Creative Revolution of the 1960’s. Advertising in the sixties shaped the advertising industry into the practice used today. Doyle Dane Bernbach was the industry leader in advertising in the 1960s because William Bernbach, the creative mind behind DDB, introduced a different technique for creativity in the sixties that had not been seen before. This is what was known as the Creative Revolution (Dobrow, 1984).
Record Store Day is this Saturday, April 21st. Record Store Day is a celebration of vinyl and the art of music in general. If you’re interested in vinyl, be sure to check out the official website for information about events in your area. Expect live performances, special releases, and a good time.
A couple of friends of mine care for and foster dogs. This weekend, we got to meet their newest buddies, two pitbulls named Buzz and Nemo! Buzz is the tiger-colored one and Nemo is the grey puppy, so aptly named because he has a shorter “lucky” paw. Check out the photos below!
